Barely into February, Lutcher (LA) corner Jordan Batiste has already made it to two junior days, and has had interest from every part of the country it seems.
"I went to Texas A&M's junior day, and I went to LSU," Batiste said. "A&M was a good one. I learned a lot of stuff about A&M. LSU was good. (LSU Defensive backs) coach (Ron) Cooper was there. We had a couple good conversations."
In addition to LSU and Texas A&M, Batiste says he's received interest from Nebraska, UCLA, Tulsa, Ole Miss, Minnesota and Mississippi State. Batiste added that the contact from Tulsa was from Todd Graham's staff, who is now at Pittsburgh. He expects to get interest from Graham's staff at their new school.
"Probably so," Batiste added.
For now, Batiste is in his offseason conditioning program for football. In addition to the workouts with his team, he will be part of the Louisiana Select team for the Badger Sports 7-on-7.
As a junior, Batiste finished the season with 84 tackles, two interceptions, two touchdowns on defense, two forced fumbles and a blocked field goal. He earned first-team all-district and first-team all-state honors.
