Birch Named To McDonald's All-American Game

This year's McDonald's All-American game will be played in Chicago on March 30.

Pitt signee Khem Birch was selected to the McDonald's All-American game today. He will play in the annual all-star game as a member of the West team. This year's game will be played Wednesday March 30 at the United Center in Chicago.

Birch joins Dante Taylor, to become the second Pitt signee in the last three years to be selected for the game. Birch chose to reclassify as a member of the 2011 class back in November, after giving the Panthers a verbal commitment back in September, while still a member of the 2012 class.

Birch's West team will be coached by Gene Pingatore, head coach at St. Joseph (IL). Pingatore's assistants Bill Riley and Daryl Thomas will fill out the West staff.

Louisville signee Wayne Blackshear is also a member of the West team. Other future Big East players for the East team include Louisville signee Chane Behanan and Syracuse signees Michael Carter-Williams and Rakeem Christmas.
