Coleman Gets First Offer

Pittsburgh (PA) Peabody athlete Jaylen Coleman has an offer, and is picking up even more interest.

Jaylen Coleman had been getting interest, is still getting increased interest from a lot of schools, but recently got a sense of relief when his first offer came in.

"I just got offered by Toledo," Coleman said. "I've been hearing from Michigan State, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Nebraska, Akron—those are all schools that are interested."

One thing Coleman has found, is that once the Toledo offer came through, he got increased interest from some of these other schools.

"Right after (the offer), West Virginia invited me to their junior day, (Penn State assistant) Tom Bradley came into my school, Eastern Michigan came in," Coleman added. "That's where we are."

Coleman was also excited to see renewed interest from the new staff at Pitt.

"They're all really good coaches," Coleman said of Pitt. "It seems like (defensive backs) coach (Tony) Gibson wants me to come down for junior day on March 5. He said he wants to make me a Panther. It sounds like they're close (to offering).

"West Virginia, Wisconsin—out of all the schools, Wisconsin is my top choice, well, they will be my top choice when they offer. On March 25 I'm going to Michigan State. On February 26, I'm going to Wisconsin—they want me to come up there. I'm going to try to go up there. I've also been invited to the spring game in April for Wisconsin."

A big reason for Coleman's spiked interest is his junior highlight video that recently went out.

"Everything's been going real good," Coleman said. "All the schools I talk to, they all like my highlight video. I'm getting four or five letters a day."

As a junior in 2010, Coleman finished with 90 tackles, six sacks and was a first-team all-City League selection on defense at linebacker.
