Laird Gets In-State Interest

Junior receiver attends junior day at LSU, has another set for Louisiana-Lafayette

Ouchita Christian School (LA) receiver Mark Laird recently attended one junior day, and has another one planned, but says there hasn't been much interest from out-of-state schools.

Currently, he's preparing for baseball and track, but Laird is starting to mix in some junior day visits.

"I went to one junior day, at LSU, and I plan on going to Louisiana-Lafayette on March 2 for their junior day," Laird said. "I also went to LSU for an unofficial visit this year when they played Ole Miss."

Laird is coming off an all-state season where he finished with 76 receptions for 1,755 yards and 19 total touchdowns. He also had another 516 kick return yards. He plays primarily receiver on offense, and corner on defense, but it's clear that his future is on offense at receiver.

A centerfielder and pitcher for the baseball team, Laird will attend an upcoming National Underclassman Combine this weekend in Zachary, Louisiana.
