Chris Morgan knows that his college decision is a long ways off. With interest from Texas A&M, LSU, Georgia Tech, SMU, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Tulsa, Tennessee and Texas, he's received letters from this school but knows that he has plenty of time to figure things out.
"It's pretty good right now," Morgan said of the recruiting process. "It's taking its time. Some schools, you hear from more than others. Some are coming out there harder than others. I'm taking my time right now."
As a junior, Morgan finished with 89 tackles. He averaged 7.4 tackles a game. He also totaled nine tackles for losses, four forced fumbles, one interception, two blocked punts and four sacks. He earned all-district and honorable-mention all-state honors for his play in 2010.
While most schools that are recruiting him are in his region, one school not in his region is Pitt. He talked a little about some of that interest in the Panthers, and labels it as a school he'd like to get to know more about.
"I don't really know too much about them, but I want to," Morgan said. "That's one of the schools I'd like to visit. They have a good program from what I've heard and they have a good coaching staff. I'm interested in learning more about them."
As for other schools he has visited already, he's been to a junior day at Georgia Tech and plans on going back to Atlanta for the spring game. So far, that's the only junior day he's been to. He has also been to LSU for an unofficial visit during this past football season.
Morgan will also be at the Badger Sports 7-on-7 in Alabama in April, and he also plans on being that the Nike Training Camp in Houston later in the spring.
