As a junior in 2010, Darrian Dyson finished with 20 tackles for losses, four forced fumbles including one that he recovered for a touchdown. This winter, Dyson has been invited to a couple of junior days, and has been invited to some camps.
"There's ULM's (University of Louisiana-Monroe) junior day and Tulsa," Dyson said. "Other than that, those are the only ones I've been going to. Then there's the Nike Camp in Houston I'm attending. I'm not sure about the SPARQ camp in Dallas, but Houston for sure.
Pittsburgh is also a school that Dyson has heard from. He is looking to take a visit up there, where he also hopes to get an offer from the Panthers too.
"They're just trying to get me up there for fall, seeing how I do after spring," Dyson said of Pitt. "I don't really know too much about them, except that it's real cold, but it's a real good program."
He even has an idea of Pitt's new defensive scheme, and has a good idea of where he could fit in.
"They said defensive end, but in certain situations, they said it if came down to it, tackle," Dyson said. "But, I'll probably be going up there to play defensive end. They were telling me they have four seniors leaving. That's a whole d-line of seniors, so when I'm at school, I should be able to come in and play right away."Dyson said he has been timed with a 5.0 run in the 40, and hopes to take that down to a 4.9 at the Houston Nike Camp.
