J.P. Holtz lives just a short drive away from Heinz Field. Despite rainy conditions for the spring game on Saturday, it wasn't rainy enough for Holtz to come away unimpressed.
"It was a good scrimmage," Holtz said. "They looked good. I think the offense looked really good. I thought they played well, and the defense played well too. I talked to a couple of the other recruits after the game."
Holtz is being recruited as a three-back, which is a hybrid running back/fullback/tight end. Holtz played primarily as Shaler's running back as a junior, accouting for 14 total touchdowns.
Aside from the game, Holtz got a little bit of a tour of Heinz Field. He plans on getting back to Pitt a few more times.
"I've been there, they gave me a little bit of the tour, but I've been here before," Holtz added. "I'm definitely going back more. It's only ten minutes away from house. It's easy to get there."
After Pitt's spring game, Holtz doesn't have any other unofficial visits set up at this time.
