Pitt Visit Possible For Taylor

Pitt is one of a number of schools that have come to watch Lutcher's spring practices. Running back Daniel Taylor may now decide to return the favor, and invest a visit in the Panthers.

Daniel Taylor rushed for rushed for 1,245 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior, and also added another 313 yards and three touchdowns receiving. His offer count reached double-digits last week, when in-state Louisiana offered him.

Pitt receivers coach Mike Norvell is recruiting him for the Panthers, another of Taylor's 10 offers. Norvell came down to meet Taylor's coaches last week.

"He came down, and the running backs coach (Calvin Magee) came down too," Taylor said. "I didn't get a chance to talk to them, but they came by to watch my film, talk to my coaches."

It was the second visit this month for Norvell. NCAA rules allow two coaches to come by a spring practice—one college coach may meet with the high school coach, or evaluate film. The other is permitted to view an athlete's grades. With a couple trips from the Pitt coaching staff, Taylor might be tempted to get a visit up to Pittsburgh at some point.

"I don't think I'll get up there in the summer, but I'm going to take an official," Taylor added.

Taylor will wrap up spring drills with his Lutcher teammates this week.

"We have a week left, everything's going great and we're improving," Taylor said. "I don't have any other new offers; not yet. A couple more schools are coming through this week."
