Bishop McCort offensive lineman Zach Rugg had a good enough performance at the recent Nike Camp at Penn State to earn All-Camp honors. The 6-5, 275-pound Rugg not only performed well, but felt he learned a lot from the camp in just one day.
"I liked it a lot," Rugg said. "I like how they did the running stuff more. I truly saw what muscle memory does. (The coaches) definitely helped out a lot with the drills and everything. There were good blocking drills, things with footwork. There was definitely some different stuff. I think it was pretty good."
Next for Rugg, is figuring out what camps he will attend. He has offers from Temple and Youngstown State right now. He likes the luxury knowing he has the chance to go to school for free while playing football. Now, he will look to see how he competes against other athletes, while getting the opportunity to earn more offers.
"(The offers) are really exciting," Rugg adds. "It's one of those things where it's something you work really hard for. It's something you didn't expect."
"Right now, me and my coach are talking about different college camps in June, but I'm not sure yet which ones," Rugg said. "One of the camps is going to be Pitt, for sure. I'm going to Temple and Buffalo too.
"I've been down to Pitt a few times. I want to go down there and see how I compete against the best, and we'll go from there."
