Three-star cornerback V'Angelo Bentley holds four offers from Akron, Illinois, Kent State and Pittsburgh. The 5-10, 170-pound Bentley was at this past weekend's Nike Camp in Columbus, but was limited due to his track schedule. He still got a good feel for the competition while he was there.
"The competition out there was good," Bentley said. "I didn't participate because of track, but as far as I could see, the competition was great as far as the receivers and defensive backs going after each other. Nike put together a great event. Everything was good."
Bentley has regionals, followed by states, where he competes in the 100, the 4x100 relay and the 4x200 relay. Bentley has been consistently timed at 10.7 in his 100 splits. He won't be sure of which camps he will go to, until after track season is over.
Bentley was at Pitt's junior day in March, one of the schools that has offered him so far. He continues to hear good things from the Pitt coaching staff.
"Good things, and about how they're interested," Bentley said of Pitt. "Nothing too much new, just that they're interested."
He's also planning a possible summer visit back to Pittsburgh, with several of his teammates.
"I'm trying to (get back to Pittsburgh)," Bentley said. "I know me and my teammates, we're just trying to go up there. They want to see everybody."
