Pitt Gets Its Quarterback

Chad Voytik gives the Panthers a verbal commitment. Pitt now has ten verbal commitments for the Class of 2012, only now with the centerpiece of what can become an even stronger class.

Sources informed Scout.com late Wednesday night that Chad Voytik would commit to the Pittsburgh Panthers. Thursday, it all came to fruition as Voytik to the Panthers became official.

The four-star quarterback was recently named to the prestigious Elite 11 last week in California, and now gives Pitt their highest-rated recruit of the 2011 class.

Voytik has also been selected for the U.S. Army All-American game in San Antonio for next year. As a junior, he completed 121-of-221 passes for 1,850 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also rushed for 439 yards and another 7 touchdowns.

Voytik held a double-digit offer total, but chose the Panthers over other finalists Mississippi State and Vanderbilt at the end.
