Lindsey Named Big East Player of the Week

Brandon Lindsey goes out in style in his final game at Heinz Field.

Brandon Lindsey was named Big East Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Saturday, in a 33-20 win over Syracuse, Lindsey had as well-versed a game he's had in his Pitt career. The 6-3, 250-pound defensive end/linebacker finished with six tackles, a saack, two forced fumbles, an interception and three quarterback hurries. His effort spurred Pitt's most productive effort in the turnover department all season.

With his sack on Saturday, Lindsey has 22.5 for his career, which moves him ahead of Rickey Jackson (1977-80) and Ricardo McDonald (1989-92) for ninth-place on Pitt's all-time list.

For the season, Lindsey has 48 tackles, including 11 tackles for losses. He also has 8.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception.
