JUCO WR Puts Pitt At The Top

Pitt hosted a number of official visitors on campus this past weekend, including Marquez Clark—a 6-0, 190-pound receiver.

Marquez Clark is getting closer to making his college choice, but not before taking his official visits. He expects to make a decision after visiting Kansas State next weekend, but up first was a visit to Pittsburgh this past weekend. He is being recruited by receivers coach Michael Norvell.

"It was pretty good," Clark said. "I enjoyed the whole thing, everything. I got to hang out with Isaac Bennett. He was my host. I got to meet some other guys too, like Lafayette Pitts."

Among Clark's favorite parts of the trip, included a trip to Heinz Field. He came in to the visit expecting to see an NFL facility. When he saw it in person, it exceeded his expectations.

"It was pretty neat," Clark said. "We didn't go to the Pitt locker rooms, but we did see the Steeler locker rooms. It was pretty mind-blowing."

Clark is being recruited for what he calls the inside receiver position, or the ‘H' position. This past year at Navarro, he caught 99 passes for 1,639 yards and 15 touchdowns. There's still some time before making his call. After his official visit to Pitt, Clark knows where Pitt ranks.

"They're at the top, they're probably my top pick now," Clark said. "I've got Kansas State next weekend, so we'll see how that goes."
