Coach Speak: Rundown Of 2012 Class

Paul Chryst offers his own individual take on each member of his first recruiting class at Pitt.

Adam Bisnowaty
"We've known about Adam for a long time, even when we were out in the midwest. Athletically, size-wise fits the profile. Thing that impressed me about Adam, he's a guy who wanted to be at Pitt. He wanted to be a part, wanted to be in this group. He's a great addition. I'm looking forward to seeing Adam grow. We liked his sophomore, junior film, but he played his best football as a senior."

Bam Bradley
"All these guys, they have their own story. We were really fired up when we got word on this one. Bam is a tremendous athlete. He's a great football player, and his brother (Nicholas Grigsby) is on the team."

Mike Caprara
"The one thing, you watch his film, and you say, ‘There's a football player.' He's been one of the best players on a great football team for a long time. He's a tremendous person and a great football player."

Trenton Coles
"When you jump out at these 16 players, you have a few guys who have won state championships. Trenton was 47-1 in his high school career. The more I get to know him, the more excited I get. Certainly, he'll make an impact on the defensive side of the ball."

Chris Davis
"It's unique for him. There's two (twin) brothers and I'm really excited about the individual part of each one. Chris has got size, not as tall as some people would say. He's physical, has great ball skills and is a talented ball player. He can contribute in a lot of ways."

Demitrious Davis
"He's dynamic. He played quarterback for (Austintown-Fitch), so you know he loves having the ball in his hands. They've been in enough roles where they can play several positions."

J.P. Holtz
"JP was one of the first ones we were able to go out and see. Pitt's a great fit for him; the process he went through. JP was one of the first ones we were able to go out and see. Pitt's a great ift for him. The process he went through. He's a guy who played five or six positions, really impacted the game."

Terrell Jackson
"Terrell Jackson is one that Coach Rudolph had been tracking for a couple of years. You knew when he came on campus, there's a lot of positives here. Terrell is one of those guys, a defensive end, who knows where he goes."

Ryan Lewis
"Ryan Lewis is a cornerback. He's one that came in on a visit, the second to last (weekend). He has some history here. He has a cousin (Tristan Roberts) that was on the team. He'll start at cornerback. He had 1,700 yards rushing. He's a good football player, and we're excited to have him on the other side of the ball."

Jahmahl Pardner
"(Secondary) coach (Matt) House couldn't get up there fast enough. He's a solid person we're excited to have join us."

Devon Porchia
"You talk about a guy with energy. He had been committed for awhile. He stuck with it. We feel we have a good group of linebackers with Devon and Mike."

Darryl Render
"Darryl came down here the first day we could meet recruits. He came down with his mom and dad. He's a very impressive person and an impressive player. Him and Terrell, we can build depth (on the defensive line)."

Deaysean Rippy
"We were excited when we found out (he committed). Coach Junko did a great job, amazing. Deaysean can do a number of things. One thing is he can impact us. We're really excited about him."

Gabe Roberts
"Gabe Roberts is an offensive lineman from Wisconsin. We felt he could be a good fit at Pitt. The more he saw about Pitt, the more he liked it here."

Rushel Shell
"The thing I like about him, he knew Pitt was the place for him long before we were around. He is the all-time leading rusher in Pennsylvania, you guys would know better than I do. He knows a lot of our players."

Chad Voytik
"Thelast one on the list, the first one to send his letter. The quarterback that gets it. As talented as he is on the field, he has all the intangibles."
