Ben Iannacchione is one of the area's best linemen

Baldwin High School's Ben Iannacchione is one of top lineman in Western, PA. He has started both ways since his sophomore year and was named All-Conference as a junior. PittInsiders had the chance to talk with him about his recruiting process.

Q - Lets start off with your measurements.

A - I'm 6-4 285 lbs. and ran a 5.4 40 at the Metro Index Camp. I can squat 440 lbs. and bench press 315 lbs.

Q - How many years have you been a starter?

A - I have started on offense and defense since my sophomore year. I was All-Conference as a junior.

Q - What do you consider your strengths to be on offense and defense?

A - On offense, my run blocking is my strength. On defense, it would be filling gaps and taking on double teams to free up my linebackers to make the plays. Most schools are recruiting me to play guard.

Q - What camps have you been to so far this summer?

A - I have camped at Pitt, BC and West Virginia. I will also be going up to Penn State.

Q - What schools have offered you at this point and what schools are you looking at with the most interest?

A - I have offers from South Carolina, Toledo and Cincinnati. West Virginia and Boston College are my two favorites at this point. I'm also looking at Pitt and Penn State.

Ben is fully qualified to play as a freshmen. Once college coaches see film from his senior season, I expect the offers to come flooding in for big Ben. Ben also throws the shot put on the track team. Baldwin finished 4-6 last season in the conference, but should be looking at a pretty good season this coming year. One of Ben's teammates, Ryan Buzzelli, OL 6-3 300 lbs., is also being looked at, and is gathering heavy interest from NC State and Cincinnati, among others. Look for updates on both promising lineman throughout the upcoming season.
