Pitt Announces Three Game Times

Pitt's 2012 opener is still another three months off, but the school was able to announce three kickoff times on Thursday. Of Pitt's 12 regular season games, eight kickoff times have now been set.

Three additional kickoff times have been determined for the 2012 Pitt football season.

·         The Panthers' Sept. 15 game with Virginia Tech at Heinz Field will have a noon kickoff and be nationally televised by one of three networks (ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU).

·         Pitt's Sept. 22 home game against Gardner-Webb will kick off at 3:30 p.m. It will be shown live on the ESPN3 broadband network.

·         The Oct. 20 game at Buffalo will be a Big East Network television production and start at 3:30 p.m.

Additional kickoff times and television arrangements will be announced at later dates.

The 2012 season marks the first for Paul Chryst as head coach at Pitt. Chryst comes to Pittsburgh following an accomplished eight-year tenure at the University of Wisconsin, where he was a two-time finalist for the Broyles Award, annually presented to college football's top assistant coach.

Widely recognized as one of the game's finest strategists, Chryst directed a Wisconsin offense last year that averaged a school-record 44.1 points per game en route to the Badgers' second consecutive Big Ten title and Rose Bowl berth.

Pitt season-ticket packages are currently on sale for as low as $99 and can be purchased online (PittsburghPanthers.com), by phone (800/643-PITT) or in person at the Petersen Events Center ticket office. All Pitt and UPMC employees are eligible for a 20% discount.
