Stewart Impressed With Pitt Camp

As a junior, in helping Aliquippa to a 14-1 season and an appearance in the PIAA semifinals a year ago, he was a standout on the defensive side of the ball.

Malik Stewart's trip to Pitt was his first trip to a camp for anything. As a starter at cornerback, and one that helped his team to a state semifinal appearance, he knows a thing or two about playing in a big game.

He did try to keep an open mind and pick up a few new things at his first camp experience with Pitt.

"I thought it was nice," Stewart said. "The coaches there told me I did a couple of good things."

But, he did credit his program, specifically his teammates, for preparing him for something like this.

"That helps you a lot," Stewart said of coming from Aliquippa. "You get a lot of determination from playing at Aliquippa; to be the best that you can be."

After camping at Pitt, Stewart plans on heading to Toledo's prospect camp, as well as Youngstown State's camp. After that, he will go back into his own training regime, to get ready for his 2012 season.
