Boyd Impressive At National Camp

There weren't too many prospects from the Northeast at this elite combine in Georgia over the weekend. Tyler Boyd--the lone western PA representative--represented his team and his area well.

Recruiting wasn't much of the mind of Tyler Boyd, who travelled all the way to Georgia for an invite-only combine. Boyd said he was well aware at the number of talented players that would be there.

"It was definitely an awesome experience to be a part of," Boyd said. "It's something I definitely had to do."

He also knew that one of his greatest attributes--his speed--would have to be something that might set himself apart from the other prospects. After it was over, he felt that it was.

"My speed was definitely going to get me through," Boyd said. "I knew I'd have to do pretty good there, and I knew there was going to be some good competition. Afterwards, I felt like I was one of the better ones there. I did a good job getting out of my breaks.

"It was definitely great, to be there as one of the top guys in Pennsylvania besides (Robert) Foster. I definitely had something to prove."

Boyd, still uncommitted, doesn't have any immediate plans for making a decision, or taking any unofficial visits the rest of this summer. Instead, he's celebrating his teammate Titus Howard committing to Pittsburgh on Sunday.

"Yeah, I don't have anything coming up," Boyd added. "Titus, I'm real glad he made the best choice possible for himself. That's the best place for him to be."
