Pitt Announces 2012-13 Big East Games

Pitt announces home and away slate for its 2012-13 Big East basketball season.

In what is expected to be Pitt's final season in the Big East, its 2012-13 schedule of conference opponents was released on Thursday.

The interesting thing to note is that despite losing West Virginia, and losing a potential new member in TCU, the Panthers still play a total of 18 conference games for a sixth year in a row. They will also play each team in the conference once.

Home opponents for Pitt include Cincinnati, Connecticut, DePaul, Marquette, Notre Dame, Seton Hall, South Florida, Syracuse and Villanova. Road opponents include return matches with Cincinnati, DePaul, Marquette and Villanova. The other road-only games will be Georgetown, Louisville, Providence, Rutgers and St. John's.

The Big East Tournament will be set for March 12-16 at Madison Square Garden. NCAA Tournament play begins the following weekend with second and third round matchups to be hosted at Auburn Hills, Michigan, Lexington, Kentucky, Salt Lake City, Utah, San Jose, California, Austin, Texas, Dayton, Ohio, Kansas City, Missouri and Philadelphia. The four Regional sites will be Los Angles, Washington, D.C., Arlington, Texas and Indianapolis, Indiana, The 2013 Final Four will be hosted at the Georgia Dome this year from April 6-8.
