Pitt Adds Kicker To 2013 Class

West Potomac (VA) kicker Chris Blewitt committed to the Panthers on Tuesday.

Multiple sources have incidcated to Panther Digest that West Potomac (VA) kicker Chris Blewitt has committed to Panthers. Last week, LaSalle College (PA) punter Ryan Winslow gave the Panthers a verbal pledge.

According to another source, Blewitt had offers from Pitt and Temple. Blewitt is expected to be in the Pittsburgh area this weekend for a Kohl's kicking camp to be held at nearby West Allegheny High School.

Blewitt spent his previous high school years under head coach Eric Henderson. The school did not renew Henderson's contract after last season, despite an 8-4 showing. Former Penn State defensive lineman Jeremiah Davis takes over as head coach for Blewitt's senior year.

The last scholarship kicker the Panthers added was Kevin Harper in 2008. Harper--entering his fifth and final year with the program in 2012--handled both placekicking and punting duties. Harper was 21-31 on field goal attempts last year, 32-33 on extra point attempts, and averaged 58.9 yards a kickoff with 6 kickoffs going for touchbacks.

Stay tuned for more on Blewitt's commitment to Pitt.
