T.J. Clemmings came to Pitt with some lofty expectations. A five-star recruit out of Paterson Catholic (NJ), Clemmings has had a different head coach in each of his three seasons.
After taking a redshirt last season, switching into a 3-4, Clemmings moves back to the 4-3 at defensive end, where he started his career off.
He says with each game this season, he's more appreciative of the redshirt last season. He also says with all the new starters on defense this season, he feels the unit is growing up together. Based on the current set of starters, Pitt will only lose safety Jarred Holley to graduation after this season.
Clemmings started playing football as a junior in high school, after being a basketball player first. Several of his teammates also played basketball in high school. He gives us his idea of a starting five, from the current Pitt football roster.
