Jim Hueber had to deal with a by thin group in his first year as Pitt offensive line coach.
Despite the lack of depth, the suspension of Juantez Hollins right before the start of training camp, then the loss of Tom Ricketts on the first day of training camp, it was an uphill battle from the start.
If Hueber's group showed anything this year, it was toughness. He made it through eight games with the same starting five, before losing right guard Ryan Schlieper with a season-ending foot injury. He put sophomore Arthur Doakes in at right guard, making his first career start at offensive line.
Despite all this, Hueber says his group has progressed. He still seeks improvement each week. Hueber also talks about freshman Adam Bisnowaty, and how he's a true left tackle. He also talks about hoping to hold on--barring injuries--in order to hold on to Bisnowaty's redshirt.
