Jarrett Ready For Pitt

Tyrique Jarrett will be back in Pittsburgh in two weeks for his official visit. He used this past weekend simply to come in for a Pitt basketball game, and more importantly just see his family.

It wasn't an official visit for Tyrique Jarrett, but it was mainly a chance to get back to Pittsburgh to see his family, and to see a Pitt good basketball game.

Interestingly, with five-star recruit Robert Foster, four-star recruit Tyler Boyd--Jarrett's brother--and four-star lineman Dorian Johson, who committed to Pitt on Sunday--the game stood out as one of the more interesting things.

"It was actually a pretty good game, I didnt think they were going to do it, but they did," Jarrett said. "It was definitely cool getting to know (Foster and Johnson), and just getting to know everybody."

It was especially good seeing Boyd--his younger brother. While Jarrett enjoyed his Milford experience, it was a tough fall in the regard that he wasn't able to see his family until this weekend.

"I haven't seen my little brother for a long time; Tyler Boyd is my little brother," Jarrett said. "I was just excited to see my family. I hadn't seen my mom since I went to Milford; all the way up in New York."

There's no question that playing in front of his family, after a year at prep school, will be a big deal for Jarrett when he starts up at Pitt. In fact, Jarrett is good to go, and will be able to start with the team in January. He initially committed to the Panthers under Todd Graham. When Paul Chryst and his staff came in, Jarrett says tht not only were they going to honor his scholarship, but he felt his relationship with this new staff became even better.

"The staff that's here now made a bond with me," Jarrett added. "These coaches made a bond, and they made me feel more comfortable."

And, as if he needed anything more on his unofficial visit...

"It was just cool to get to know everybody," Jarrett said. "It was definitely good. I got to see everyone on the team, and just talking to the coaches personally."
