Howard Talks Pitt Visit

Titus Howard helped Clairton to its fifth consecutive WPIAL championship Friday, in a 58-21 win over Sto-Rox. Howard finished with 3 catches for 60 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown reception.

It's been a big week for Titus Howard. An official visit to Pittsburgh, capped with another WPIAL Championship.

"I'm just excited that we made history," Howard said. "That's all we've been talking about all year; making history. We did it. I can't explain how happy I am inside.

"I just think that God is the only reason that we're here; God is the reason we do what we do. I love God, and I thank God for everything,"

Even though it was a closer game early on--closer than a lot of opponents had seen this year--Howard said it was evident when his team's confidence rolled in, A 28-point third quarter made the difference for the Bears.

"We just feel like if we play our game, we're going to win," Howard added. "If we come out and do what we're supposed to do, we're going to win."

Howard has been committed to Pitt for awhile. There was very little that he needed to see over the weekend, or little more he needed to be impressed with. Instead, he took the time to get to know some of the other prospects who were on campus.

"I had a great weekend with the coaches," Howard said. "I had a great weekend with Rob Foster and Tyler Boyd. Dorian Johnson had a great weekend. We all had a great weekend; had a good time."

One of those players, of course, include's Howard's teammate Boyd. After the win, Howard made it very clear that he would like to see Boyd in a Pitt uniform, as well.

"I'm looking forward to winning championships," Howard said. "(Having Boyd) would make everything a lot easier. That would make me happy inside.

"That would be real cool, because I've been with him my whole life. That would make me a lot happier if he'd come with me."

A number of other commits in this 2013 class are going to be enrolled in January; Tra'Von Chapman, Tyrique Jarrett, Scott Orndoo, Shakir Soto just to name a few. Is Howard going to join the rest in January?

"If it's possible, I may," Howard said. "I might."
