Bethel Park (PA) offensive lineman Michael Grimm is fresh off a successful performance at the U.S. Army All-American Combine. Now, it's off to a round of junior day visits.
First up was Pitt, where Grimm was one of 35 prospects in attendance.
"It was a lot of fun, there were a few guys I kind of recognized," Grimm said. "I recognized a couple of the Aliquippa couple kids. The only other kid from my section was (Alex Bookser) from Mt. Lebanon."
The junior day was split into two parts. In the morning, Grimm and the other players met with the coaching staff.
"We talked to Coach Hueber with the whole lineman group," Grimm said. "I've talked to Coach Hueber before. Then, they brought us back in for orientation, then we went back with our position coaches."
The highlight for a lot of the recruits in attendance was the Pitt basketball game in the afternoon. As they entered the building, the recruits received a nice ovation from the fans.
It was crazy," Grimm said. "I've been to a lot of Pitt games before. We sat right next to the student section. It was a big game, a big win."
After the visit, Grimm says Pitt is in good standing with him. There's certainly a lot of recruiting in front of him, but he says Pitt is a school in the mix. Pitt will be playing its annual spring game at Bethel Park High School this year on Friday, April 12.
"Oh yeah, definitely," Grimm added. "I definitely have a really good impression of them. I just like them as a school."
