Davis Up To Five Offers

Anthony Davis talks about his offers, and where he might be heading for junior days this offseason.

Gateway (PA) Monroeville corner Anthony Davis is up to five offers. After initially getting one from Texas Tech, Davis has since grabbed offers from Illinois, Temple, Toledo and Bowling Green.

Now, Davis is looking at offseason visits. Though he missed out on Pitt's junior day a couple weeks ago, he is scheduled to be at the Petersen Events Center tonight for the Pitt-Notre Dame basketball game. Joining him will be teammate Montae Nicholson.

"I haven't talked to them since then, haven't heard anything big yet," Davis said.

He will, however be at Penn State's junior day this weekend with teammate Delvon Randall. Outside of the in-state trips, there's nothing else planned.

"I haven't been (to Penn State) before, but I have talked with them about going up before," Davis said. "I'll be heading up with Delvon Randall. Hopefully, we'll have a good time up there."

Nicholson, Davis and Randall all return as starters in the Gateway secondary for 2013. Former Gateway head coach Terry Smith was recently hired as the receivers coach at Temple. Temple is one of his more recent offers, but Davis does not have any immediate plans to go visit there.

"I haven't really talked to any of the recruiters (from Temple)," Davis said. "I know (Todd) Jeter got an offer from them. I've gotten some mail from a lot of schools, but I haven't talked to them yet."

Davis finished with 26 tackles, four interceptions and a fumble recovery in his junior year. He earned first-team all-conference honors, and was named to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Terrific 25 team.
