Anthony Khalife competed at this past weekend's state track championship, in the shutput and the discus.
Khalife qualified for the state meet with throws of 51 feet in the shotput and 154 in the discus, earlier in the spring. He finished 13th at the state meet in the discus throw, with a distance of 154 feet, 10 inches.
Khalife says even with track going on, schools continued to come by his school. Now comes the tough part of figuring out which camps he'll get to this summer.
"Yeah, they all come by," Khalife said. "It's mostly the same schools, the ones I visited for junior days. They all want to see me at their camp, see how I move, see how coachable I am. We're just trying to figure out a camp schedule."
"Pitt, UConn, Maryland, Buffalo, they're all supposed to come in this week," Khalife said. "Pretty much the same schools I took spring visits to."
Though he hasn't set any dates yet, he's pretty sure those are all schools he's planning on getting to for camps.
"Right now, I definitely plan on camping at Maryland, Pitt and UConn," Khalife said. "If we can fit in any I-AA schools in there, we will. We're going to try to get up to Buffalo, as well."
As a junior, Khalife finished with over 100 tackles and five sacks on defense. He also caught 11 passes as a tight end.
