Zeise Commits To Panthers

Elijah Zeise made it official on Wednesday, committing to the Pittsburgh Panthers. He becomes the 14th commit in the 2014 class.

It shouldn't serve as much of a surprise, but it is nevertheless good news that North Allegheny receiver/defensive back Elijah Zeise committed to Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

"I have officially committed to the University of Pittsburgh! #H2P," Zeise tweeted, around 12:30 on Wednesday afternoon.

Zeise has been around the Pitt program for a number of years. His dad, Paul Zeise, was the Pitt beat writer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette from 2003-12. When Elijah picked up a Pitt offer, Paul left the beat, feeling it might create a conflict of interest. This happened just three days in Pitt's 2012 training camp, after Elijah got his Pitt offer.

Zeise also had an offer from West Virginia, and seriously considered some Ivy League schools. He visited Columbia and Dartmouth last week.

Already, Zeise has been part of two state championships in his career at North Allegheny. He caught 23 passes for 677 yards and four touchdowns on offense, with 41 tackles and three interceptions on defense, en route to North Allegheny's recent state run.

Stay tuned for more on Zeise, and his commitment to the Panthers.
