Pro-Am League: Monday Results

Pitt's Talib Zanna, Durand Johnson and freshman Josh Newkirk all finish with 20-point nights on Monday.

SPK Law 81 The Lair 73
SPK Law remained the only unbeaten team in the Pro-Am league with a 81-73 win over The Lair.

SPK was led by three players in double-figures; Youngstown State's Kendrick Perry with 16, Youngstown State's Shawn Amiker with 15 and Robert Morris' Jerimiah Worthen with 14.

Representing Pitt, for SPK Law, was freshman Mike Young and walk-on Mike Lecak. Young added seven points and a rebound, while Lecak added nine points and a rebound. Lecak was also 2-4 from three-point range.

SPK turned the ball over just three times for the entire game.

Davidson's Tom Droney, a Sewickley Academy graduate, made his summer league debut, contributing two points.

In a losing effort, Duquesne's Ovie Soko had another big game with 20 points and 18 rebounds--the most of any player on Monday night. West Virginia's Eron Harris led The Lair with 23 points.

South Hills Audi 92 UPMC 71

South Hills Audi converted 38-77 (49.4 %) shot from the field as a team, on its way to a 92-71 rout over UPMC

Pitt grad Chevon Troutman led South Hills Audi with 23 points and eight rebounds. Former Beaver Falls standout Lance Jeter finished with 19 points, followed by Cornell's Nolan Cressler with 11, Kyle Goldcamp with 10 and Andrew Cressler with 16.

South Hills Audi also held a 37-29 edge in rebounding.

In a losing effort, Pitt's Josh Newkirk and Durand Johnson led the way. Newkirk finished with another 20-point effort, leading his team with 23. Johnson chipped in 21. Johnson was also 3-6 from three-point range. Freshman Jamel Artis finished with five points and three rebounds.

Davidson's Droney, playing a second game on the night, added four points.

GNC 82 PGT Trucking 76
In the final game of the night, GNC picked up its first win of the summer, holding off PGT Trucking, 82-76.

Duquesne's Derrick Colter led all scorers on Monday night, with 29 points in the win. He was also 5-8 from three-point range. His teammate Jordan Robinson added 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Pitt's Talib Zanna had another impressive game, despite his team's loss. Zanna finished with 28 points and 17 rebounds. PGT had more scorers in double-figures, coming up on the short end. Robert Morris' Desjuan Newton finished with 17 points, followed by Colonial teammates Britton Lee with 11 and Elijah Thompson with 10.
