South Hills Audi 76 GNC 66
South Hills Audi won its second game in a row, a 76-66 win over GNC.
Former Pitt standout Chevon Troutman led South Hills Audi, again. This time, Troutman dumped in a double-double of 24 points and 16 rebounds.
Nolan Cressler chipped in 18 points, his second double-figure outing in as many games. Former Pitt player John DeGroat added 10, in the win. South Hills Audi made the biggest difference on the glass with a 42-25 edge.
Despite the loss, Duquesne's Tre'Vaughn White finished with 30 points on 12-21 (57.1%) shooting.
PGT Trucking 91 The Lair 82
PGT Trucking became the third team in the league to reach three wins, in a 91-82 win over The Lair.
This, despite PGT only having six players available. Five of those players finished in double-figures, led by Talib Zanna with a double-double of 28 points and 17 rebounds.
Pitt freshman Jamel Artis--in his first of two games on the night--added 12 points and nine rebounds. Robert Morris' Desjuan Newton finished with 20, followed by Colonial teammates Kavon Stewart with 16 and Britton Lee with 13.
Both teams shot the ball well--PGT going 34-73 (46.6%) from the field, and The Lair going 32-61 (52.5 %) from the field. The Lair was also 7-21 (33%) from the field, but ultimately lost out thanks to a dominant rebounding edge from PGT, 38-20.
UPMC 96 Oliverio's Peppers 94
In what's become a common theme of this year's summer league, the third game went down to the wire. UPMC held on for a 96-94 win over Oliverio's Peppers, earning its first win of the summer.
With just six players available, four finished in double-figures for UPMC. Robert Morris' Lucky Jones led the way with 31 points, followed by the the Colonials' Charles Oliver with 28, 16 from Zanna--playing in back-to-back games, and 15 points from Artis.
Jones added 20 rebounds, in an impressive double-double performance. Despite having just six bodies, UPMC won the rebounding game, 48-40.
Despite the loss, West Virginia's Terry Henderson had the highest scoring output of anyone on the night, with 32 points. Newton, also playing a second game, finished with 20. West Virginia's Brandon Watkins finished with 12, followed by Mountaineer teammates Nate Adrian and James Long, who each had 10.
