Pro-Am League: Wednesday Results

Talib Zanna and James Robinson made their presence felt, despite their team losing. Freshman Mike Young also comes up big in his team's win.

South Hills Audi 94 The Lair 71
South Hills Audi clinched a first-round bye in the Pittsburgh Basketball Club's Pro-Am league with another dominant win. 94-71 over The Lair.

South Hills Audi consists a lot of veteran players, including former Pitt standout Chevon Troutman. Troutman finished with another double-double, 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Also in double-figures for South Hills Audi was Nolan Cressler with 22 points and Aaron Cressler with 14 points. South Hills Audi also benefitted from a 38-74 (51.4%) shooting performance, and a dominant effort on the glass; 44-22.

Five players finished in double-figures for The Lair, led by West Virginia's Devin Williams with 20 points.

South Hills Audi clinches the top spot in the standings, earning a first-round bye in next week's playoffs.

Oliverio's Peppers 76 GNC 72
Games Two and Three of Wednesday night went down to the wire, starting with a 76-72 win for Oliverio's Peppers, over GNC.

Oliverio's Peppers was able to overcome four players who finished in double-figures for GNC. Pitt freshman Jamel Artis finished with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, followed by redshirt freshman Chris Jones with nine points. An edge in rebounding--33-29, and an 11-15 performance from the free throw line clinched the win. Artis and Jones were both 3-4 from the charity stripe.

SPK Law 77 PGT Trucking 76
In the other nailbiter of Wednesday night's finale, as SPK Law held on for a 77-76 win over PGT Trucking.

Pitt freshman Mike Young led the way for SPK, scoring 23 points and pulling down eight rebounds. Overall, SPK outrebounded PGT 33-30. Walk-on Mike Lecak finished with three points for SPK, on a three-pointer.

SPK overcame strong performances from Talib Zanna and James Robinson. Zanna continued to make a strong case for League MVP, finishing with a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds. Robinson added 18 in the loss, assisting on seven baskets. Robinson was also 10-12 from the free throw line.
