Motley Commits To Panthers

Hilliard (OH) Davidson corner Phillipie Motley says Pitt is the place for him. He chose the Panthers over nine other schools.

Phillipie Motley reached double-digits in offers. Pitt was the first BCS offer, which came in late May.

Saturday, Motley decided Pittsburgh was going to be his one school, as he gave the Panthers a verbal commitment.

"I just committed to PITT for football!!! #hail2pitt," Motley tweeted.

Motley was recruited to Pitt by offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph, who recruits his area.

"It was kind of a surprise," Motley said of getting the Pitt offer, back in May. "Coach Joe Rudolph told me that I would be a great fit at Pitt."

As a junior, Motley finished with 81 tackles, an interception and a blocked kick.

He's also the third player from the Class of 2014 from the state of Ohio, joining Reading Community defensive end Shane Roy, and Marion quarterback Adam Bertke.
