Weekend Prospect Recap

Phillipie Motley rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns in his team's 48-7 win on Saturday night. Even more impressive, the fact he did it on just five carries.

Deerfield Beach (FL) defeated St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) 22-7 on Friday night, just the second loss of the season for the Raiders. Pitt commit Wade Freebeck was limited to just 5-19 passing for 87 yards.

Qadree Ollison had a bye week, following last week's 21-0 win over St. Joseph's Collegiate last weekend. In that game, Ollison rushed for two touchdowns in that game. Ollison was in town for the Pitt-Notre Dame game. Up next, a state semifinal matchup with Bishop Timon-St. Jude at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park.

Four-star running back Chris James saw his season come to an end, as Loyola (IL) defeated Notre Dame (IL) in the second round of the Class 8A playoffs 24-0. Despite an outstanding defensive effort from Loyola, James Still rushed for 71 yards on eight carries.

Bishop Sullivan (VA) advanced in its playoff run with a 45-23 win over St. Anne's-Belfield (VA). Four-star receiver Jamil Kamara caught eight passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns.

Salesianum (DE) came away with an impressive 24-13 win over Middletown (DE). Tight end Brian O'Neill played a key role in the Sallies' ground game as a key blocker, opening the way for 220 yards on the ground. Salesianum improves to 9-1 on the season.

Hilliard (OH) Davidson came away with an impressive 48-7 win over Miamisburg (OH) in the Ohio Division I state playoffs. Pitt commit Phillipie Motley rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns in his team's win. Motley also caught three passes for 57 yards.

Detroit (MI) King continued its playoff run with a 28-14 win over East English Village. Pitt commit Avonte Maddox scored on a 68-yard touchdown pass, and a 19-yard run. King improves to 9-1 on the season.

In the Class AA District 1 playoffs, Pitt commit Patrick Amara helped West Catholic to a 26-7 win over New Hope-Solebury. He finished with two receptions for 21 yards.

Gateway saw its season come to an end in a 27-21 loss to Central Catholic. Montae Nicholson caught a 44-yard touchdown pass in the loss.

Jordan Whitehead helped his Central Valley team to a 35-21 win over Mars, advancing to the WPIAL AAA Semifinals. Whitehead caught a touchdown pass, ran one in from 74 yards out, and also returned a kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown.

Aliquippa advanced to the Class AA Semifinals with a 43-26 win over Quaker Valley. Dravon Henry and Terry Swanson each rushed for two touchdowns. Swanson, along with defensive tackle Jaleel Fields were at Pitt's game on Saturday night.

Brett Brumbaugh threw three touchdown passes, guiding South Fayette to a 31-7 win over Seton-LaSalle. South Fayette advances to take on Beaver Falls in the Class AA Semifinal matchup.

Aaron Matthews ran for a score, and threw for a score, helping Clairton to a 52-35 win over Fort Cherry. Matthews was in attendance at the Pitt game Saturday.

Clairton advances to take on Sto-Rox, 42-20 winners over Apollo-Ridge. Brendan Blair ran for a score in the Vikings' win, while Lenny Williams threw for three touchdown passes. Tre Tipton caught two touchdown passes in the loss.

Also in Class A action, junior P.J. Fulmore threw for a touchdown pass, lifting North Catholic to a 14-7 win over Avonworth. The Trojans advance to take on Neshannock.
