Fields Focusing On Three

It's Purdue, Cincinnati and West Virginia for Jaleel Fields. He talked about why these schools are his finalists, and when he might make his college decision.

Jaleel Fields put together a stellar career at Aliquippa, starting at both offensive and defensive tackle.

When asked to pick one moment that stood it, he had a quick response.

"My most memorable moment here is my sophomore year when we beat Jeannette with three minutes left on the clock," Fields said. "We drove down the field, we won. That's got to be the most memorable moment."

Following Saturday's loss to South Fayette in the WPIAL Class AA Final, head coach Mike Zmijanic praised his senior class, which includes Fields, and what they meant to the program.

"Their character, their attitude, their work ethic," head coach Mike Zmijanic said of his senior class. "They're all fine young men."

Fields recently called Purdue, Cincinnati and West Virginia his top three. He took some time to talk about why these schools are his finalists.

"I talk to the coaches a lot, and that's why I picked them as my top three, I get along with the coaches," Fields said. "Purdue, I talk to Coach (Rubin) Carter every Thursday. He is coming down December 5. He's going to come talk to my family. We have a great relationship with him. I talk to Coach (Gerad) Parker on Facebook. I think that's good."

Cincinnati is 9-2 this season, and Fields saw the Bearcats' interest in him pick up as the season went along. The interest is there, but he wants to get to know the staff a little better, too.

"Cincinnati, I barely got to talk to them, but I am going to try and set up an official visit with them," Fields said.

He has been to West Virginia a couple times, and seems to like a lot about the Mountaineers.

"West Virginia, their campus, their coaches, I like the way they play," Fields said.

Fields also said he would like to make a decision quickly, possibly some time in Decmeber after comparing his visits to all three.
