Alex Paulina, a 6-4, 280-pound offensive lineman from Canon-McMillan High School, gave Paul Chryst a verbal commitment on Saturday.

Since his first recruiting class in 2012, Chryst has emphasized building up the number of offensive linemen in the program. Though only four teams allowed more sacks in there country, among all FBS schools, Matt Rotheram and Artie Rowell had breakthrough years this past season.

True freshman Dorian Johnson played a significant role as a true freshman. Chryst was able to redshirt four freshmen on the line in this past year's class. He also has three verbal commitments (Alex Bookser, Connor Hayes, Michael Grimm) for 2014.

With National Letter of Intent Day just a few weeks away, Pitt has 24 verbal commitments for its 2014 recruiting class.
