Pitt Adds A Big LB Commit

Kevin Givens becomes the third commit of Pitt's 2015 class. In 2013, as a junior, Givens finished with 115 tackles as a junior, playing at both outside linebacker and defensive end.

Paul Chryst said last week that things are ahead of schedule in terms of recruiting.

He wasn't kidding. Kevin Givens became Pitt's third commitment of the 2015 class. Givens comes at a position of need, but also may be one of the state's top overall players, regardless of position.

"Proud to be a Panther...h2P," Givens tweeted, on Tuesday afternoon.

Pitt offered Givens in December, and it didn't take long for the three-star prospect to make up his mind. He came in for Pitt's junior day two weeks ago, then decided today that Pitt was it for him."

"Pittsburgh is my number one school," Givens said, following is junior day visit. "Just seeing the campus, I really liked how the city lifestyle was, and how everything was close together.

"I like the coaches, too. I talked to [head coach Paul] Chryst and mostly to [linebackers coach Chris] Haering, and they said that they hope I enjoy the recruiting process and end up at Pitt."

Stay tuned for more on Givens' commitment to Pitt.
