Pitt (25-9) earned its 25th NCAA Tournament bid on Sunday, announced as the No. 9 seed in the South Regional. The Panthers will take on Colorado.
Pitt enters Thursday's game after winning two games in the ACC Tournament last week. The Panthers lost to eventual ACC Tournament champion Virginia in Saturday's semifinal game.
The last time Pitt was a No. 9 seed was in 2005. That year, the Panthers lost to Pacific, 79-71, in Boise, Idaho.
Colorado advanced to the semifinal round of its conference tournament as well, losing to Arizona 63-43 on Friday.
The Buffs have earned NCAA Tournament bids in three consecutive seasons for the first time in school history. Its 23 wins this season tie for the second-most in school history.
