"It was their first practice in full pads, the best part was just watching practice, watching them scrimmage, and watching the o-line and d-line in one-on-ones," Podgorski said.
Podgorski also went to Toledo this spring. His first Pitt visit was a productive one. One that also gave him an idea of where he stands, and how close the Pitt staff is going to evaluate him.
"I talked to the o-line coach, Jim Hueber, then Coach (Joe) Rudolph," Podgorski said. "They're going to come to the school, then I'm going to their Pitt prospect camp on the sixth (of June), and work one-on-one with Coach Hueber."
His first trip to Pitt was an overall success.
"Yeah, it was a good one," Podgorski said. "I like the competition, and I'm looking forward to the good competition in camps. That brings out the best, that's how I look at it."
Podgorski has already been to the Nike Sparq camp in Massillon, Ohio. He will also head to the Nike Football Training Camp in Columbus, Ohio, on June 1.
He played both sides of the line in 2013, at left guard and defensive tackle. Though he says he lost a little bit of weight this offseason, he is aiming to be a solid 280 in time for the season. He will once again play both sides of the line as a senior.
