Dellovade Maps Out Camp Visits

Armand Dellovade has already helped West Allegheny to two WPIAL Championships in his career. It's already been a busy offseason, as he and his teammates look to go out with one more.

The current junior class at West Allegheny High School already has two WPIAL Championships.

The Indians lose just three starters on either side of the ball from last year's team, returning a solid nucleus.

"We have a lot of guys coming back," junior linebacker Armand Dellovade says. "We've been going in the weight room for 10 weeks now. We've been hitting it pretty hard the last couple of months.

A two-year starter, Dellovade is taking some time right now to figure out where he might be camping this summer.

"'I've been getting a lot of letters from Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Penn State, Michigan State, Penn, Temple and Cornell," Dellovade said. "I got a letter from Harvard, Brown, those kind of schools, too.

Pitt and Penn will be camp stops for sure. Watching the Pitt team up close, and going down for a spring practice, Dellovade has been very impressed with the direction of the program right now.

"I know I'm definitely going to head to Pitt," Dellovade said. "The coaches came down to the school once or twice in the winter, just to look at how things are going. I went down to one of the spring practices, I think Paul Chryst is turning the program. he's making it stand out."

Dellovade is also taking a serious look at some of the Ivy League interest he's been getting.

"I think it's awesome," Dellovade said. "There's so many opportunities there. When you graduate from an Ivy League school, you're set for life. I've been to Penn twice, I really enjoy it."
