"The last couple weeks, schools have been coming in every other day," Podgorski said. "Pitt came in, Bowling Green, Toledo. Pitt has come in a couple times to watch me work out. Toledo has come to the school twice. Robert Morris, Towson and Fordham."
Albany has also come in, with head coach and Pittsburgh native Greg Gattuso recruiting him.
Pitt has sent a couple coaches to see Podgorski work out at school. The Pitt camp is at the top of his list, where he will go on June 6.
"The first time, it was Coach (Joe) Rudolph, last week Coach (Jim) Hueber that came in to watch," Podgorski said. "Coach Hueber, he really couldn't say anything during that period of time. He says I look good in the weight room, 'Keep up the good work.' I'll be working one-on-ones and coach Rudolph at Pitt camp, on June 6."
Podgorski is still pretty pumped about the Akron offer that came last month. Even though he's looking to build to that offer total, it's comforting to have that first offer in hand.
"I was pumped," Podgorski said. "They came in, Coach (Mike) Woodford asked if I had any offers, and he said 'why not, you should have many,.' Then he said, 'Well, we're going to be your first one."
With that offer in hand, Podgorski might take an unofficial visit to Akron, but he won't camp there. In addition to Pitt, he will go to camps at Toledo, West Virginia and Maryland. Buffalo and Western Michigan have also come in, recently. Podgorski will also be at the upcoming Nike Football Training Camp in Columbus, on June 1.
