Henderson Commits To Panthers

Paul Chryst adds fourth verbal commit of 2015 class, in Malik Henderson, a corner out of Hallendale, FL.

We're seeing some early dividends of first-year secondary coach Troy Douglas, as he has helped land Hallendale (FL) corner Malik Henderson.

"I am a Pitt Commit #Blessed #Pitt #PantherNation," Henderson tweeted on Wednesday afternoon.

Henderson transferred into Hallendale this past offseason, after being a standout at a South Plantation High. As a junior there, Henderson finished with 30 tackles.

You get an idea for his nose for the ball, with his 20 pass breakups, with two interceptions. Henderson is the ideal combination of size (6-1, 175) with great speed--at least the ideal combination of traits that Douglas likes to work with.

Henderson is the first out-of-state commitment for the 2015 class, joining Canon McMillan offensive lineman Alex Paulina, Kittanning tight end Nick Bowers and Altoona linebacker Kevin Givens.

This could also maintain one of the consistent themes we've seen with Pitt under Paul Chryst--a busy month of June commitments.

Stay tuned for more on Henderson's commitment to Pitt.
