Pro-Am League Tips Off Tonight

The Pittsburgh Basketball Club Pro-Am League moves to Montour High School this year, and will introduce several new faces of the Pitt basketball team.

The annual Pittsburgh Basketball Club's Pro-Am League tips off with a new venue, and a new format on Monday night. The league will carry on for the next four weeks.

Monday night will feature four games to be played on two courts at Montour High School. In the first set of games Monday night, PGT will play Shale Attorney at 7 pm, with a matchup between Bakery Square and South Hills Audi to be played at 8:15. These games will be played at the Montour Sports Complex.

If you're looking to follow returning Pitt players, Derrick Randall and sophomore Josh Newkirk play for the PGT team. Shale Attorney will feature a couple of Pitt walk-ons in Aron Nwonkwo and Josh Ko. Bakery Square has big man Joseph Uchebo and walk-on Mike Lecak. Returning home to participate in the league, for Bakery Square, is Arizona point guard T.J. McConnell. Shady Side Academy grad, and current Penn State guard Geno Thorpe is also a member of the Bakery Square team.

Also in that 8:15 game, for South Hills Audi, are former Pitt standouts John DeGroat and Chevon Troutman, along with incoming freshmen Cameron Johnson and Sheldon Jeter.

At Montour Intermediate, GNC will take on System One at 7 pm, followed by CRONS taking on UPMC at 8:15.

System One features Pitt's James Robinson and Michael Young, in the 7 pm game. CRONS will have Pitt's lone senior, Cameron Wright, and incoming freshman Ryan Luther. UPMC has Pitt sophomores Chris Jones and Jamel Artis.
