Graham One To Watch

Joe Graham doubles as a football and track star for Taylor Allderdice. He's been busy this summer with a heavy camp schedule.

Allderdice (PA) standout Joe Graham, a 6-1, 185-pound defensive back, is trying to get in as many camps as he can this summer.

It's been a busy summer for him to this point, and he still has a lot of stops ahead.

"I've been to Toledo, Ohio State and Pittsburgh," Graham said. "I've been traveling with my 7-on-7 team, too, and we've been to West Chester and Michigan State.

"We had just gone to Marshall, but I didn't go because I had a practice for Allderdice, and for the Pitt 7-on-7."

A couple things stand out to him about making these multiple visits. One, just seeing the number of other athletes in his position trying to earn an offer. Two, the simple fact of getting to travel, and see a lot of different places.

"It makes me want to work harder because I see the other people that are working hard, just like I am," Graham said. "It lets me know that I should keep working hard at my craft.

"There's been a lot of miles, a lot of hours--sleep in the car. But, it's been good football."

Graham says there's a couple things he likes about Pitt's program.

"It's good. It's always good when I come to Pittsburgh," Graham said. "Tyrique Jarrett, he's here now. He went to Allderdice. I see him around a lot, and I see the coaches around. I talk to him a little bit. I like Pitt. I want to come here, one day."

Specifically, just watching a current Panther who went to his high school--a positive role model for him and his teammates.

"He's a big role model," Graham added. "He was a senior when I was a freshman at Allderdice. I got to see him go through his recruitment. I knew him, because my older brother was a senior when I was a freshman, and they were close. I would be around them even when I wasn't in high school."

Back to his Michigan State visit, he noted it was impressive just being on the campus of the Rose Bowl champs.

"It was fun," I saw their ring, and it was huge. Michigan State, I felt it was a great camp. I like the coaches, too."

Toledo was another stop for him, earlier this summer.

"I really like Toledo," Graham said. "I like their defensive coach. I like the recruiter I talked to."

Graham has at least one more camp visit set for later next month.

"I plan on going to West Virginia in July," Graham said. "That's another school I'm looking at because Will Clarke went there. Now, he's in the NFL."
