Pitt Adds Another Commit From Florida

Pitt picked up commit No. 12 in Jacksonville (FL) safety Peter Knox--the third commit in this 2015 class from the state of Florida.

The month of June was very good to Pittsburgh head coach Paul Chryst.

In the last 30 days, Chryst has seen his number of verbal commitments grow from three to 12. The most recent addition is Jacksonville (FL) First Coast defensive back Peter Knox.

Knox joins Hallendale corner Malik Henderson and Palm Bay running back Sekai Lindsey as other commits out of the Sunshine State.

With Knox's commitment, it also proves that Pitt--despite signing a pair of corners and another two safeties in its 2014 class, as well as two corners and another safety verbally committed to the 2015 class, Chryst and company are continuing to stock up on defensive backs.

Knox, a 6-2, 180-pound safety, ran a 4.38 40 time, at a recent combine.

Knox's commitment is also a by-product of the success of first-year defensive backs coach Troy Douglas, who has helped land the third commit out of Florida in this class alone. Douglas, like Knox, is a native of Jacksonville.
