Another Lineman For Panthers

Paul Chryst adds a second offensive lineman to his 2015 recruiting class, in 6-7 offensive tackle Tony Pilato.

The stockpiling of offensive linemen continues for Pittsburgh head coach Paul Chryst.

PantherDigest learned on Thursday afternoon that Hempfield Area (PA) standout Tony Pilato gave Chryst a verbal commitment. Pilato joins Canon McMillan's Alex Paulina as the other offensive lineman in this 2015 recruiting class, and combined with 2014 signees Connor Hayes, Mike Grimm and Alex Bookser, the Panthers have five offensive linemen in a span of two recruiting classes.

Pilato had offers from other schools such as Maryland, and for a second summer in a row, was named MVP at the Joe Moore Offensive Line Camp.

Chryst returns four returning starters to the offensive line, as well as Dorian Johnson, who made an additional three starts in 2013. Pitt will lose only two seniors after this season--Matt Rotheram and T.J. Clemmings--which will still leave the position in good shape.

Stay tuned for more on Pilato's commitment to Pitt.
