Conner Athlon Sports ACC Player of the Week

James Conner has 596 yards rushing in his last three games, the second-most by a Pitt running back since Tony Dorsett's 625 yards in the final three games of his Pitt career.

James Conner was named the Athlon Sports ACC Player of the Week on Sunday, after rushing for 214 yards and a touchdown in Pitt's 30-20 win over Boston College on Friday night.

After rushing for 158 yards and four touchdowns in the team's 62-0 win over Delaware, Conner was named ACC Offensive Back of the Week. He could very well win the award for a second week in a row, which will be announced late Monday morning.

Conner's performance this year has sparked the Pitt running game to 356 yards a game in its first two games, good enough for fourth in the nation among all FBS schools. Individually, he ranks fourth in the country with 183.5 yards a game.

Pitt returns to action Saturday, when they travel to Miami to take on Florida International at noon, looking for their first 3-0 start since 2009.
