JUCO receiver Juwann Winfree decommits from Pitt

Juwann Winfree, a 4-star recruit in the Class of 2014 and one of Pitt's receiver commits, announced his decommitment from Pitt on Twitter Monday.

After a weekend fraught with rumors regarding Juwann Winfree, the player himself confirmed what many in Pittsburgh suspected. Winfree, one of three receivers in Pitt's 2016 class alongside Ruben Flowers and Maurice Ffrench, decommitted and took to Twitter to make it official.

Winfree looked like the type of prospect who could contribute immediately for Pitt, especially at a position of need with the departure of Tyler Boyd.

Less than 48 hours remain until Signing Day and I'd imagine the coaches would like to find one more receiver before that time.

Of note, and possibly related to this, Aaron Mathews was on Pitt's campus this weekend and at the basketball game last night. He is currently committed to Penn State as a defensive end but it would seem he prefers to play wide receiver at the next level.

If Mathews is offered the chance to play receiver at Pitt after Winfree's decommitment, which he wasn't before, that could give the Panthers a real chance at flipping him from Penn State.
