Welcome Brandon Miree to Pitt!!!

Welcome Brandon Miree to Pitt

The Panthers have landed Alabama transfer Brandon Miree.  He is 6-2 221 and runs a 10.6 100 meters.  During his senior year at Winton Woods in Cincinnati, Ohio he rushed for 2455 yards and 31 TD's on 259 carries.  He was highly recruited out of high school and many teams were after him including the Panthers who made his final five teams.  Brandon ended up choosing Alabama over Notre Dame and Michigan State.  He is big and strong, yet possesses break away speed.  Decreased playing time, plus a new coaching staff, and a chance to play closer to home  Were his reasons to transfer to Pitt. He enrolled in school on the last day that you're allowed to and will be fully eligible to play the entire 2002-football season.  He can immediately begin practicing with the Panthers this season and will also be able to participate in spring practice.  With big time talents like Miree, Fitzgerald and Ward Becoming Panthers, the team should really benefit from a big increase of talent for spring ball.  Look for all three to strongly challenge, if not win starting positions for next season.
