Panthers looking to snag another Florida Receiver…

With only a few weeks left to signing day the Pittsburgh Panthers wanted to land some receivers from the Sunshine State and that is exactly what they have done. The Panthers already have commitments from Johnnie Payton of Pasco High School and Kelvin Chandler of Dillard High School.

The next receiver from Florida that could join them soon is Northwestern High School receiver Khalil Jones. The last time the Panthers coaches went to Northwestern to get themselves a receiver they landed Antonio Bryant. Jones could follow the former Bulls alum to Pittsburgh.

Even though Jones did not have the season he envisioned for himself his senior year it's hard to overlook his physical skills. Jones is a 6-foot-2, 200 pound receiver that could cause match up problems for smaller cornerbacks in college football. With a sub 4.5 40 yard dash time and his great build for a college receiver Jones could end up making a major impact at the next level.

The Insiders recently spoke with Jones and he mentioned who his top two schools were, "Miami and Pittsburgh are my top two schools, the Hurricanes have a slight lead but that could change if an offer does not soon come from them," he said.

What is Jones waiting for, "The coaches at UM told me that an offer could come soon but they are waiting on a couple of other receivers first. Coach Curtis Johnson told me that they would only take two receivers this year."

Jones mentioned to the Insiders that he will make a decision on where he will go to school once he hears back from the UM coaches. If he does not go to UM, the Panthers will be the team to beat for Jones services.
