Will Panthers offer kicker?

One of the best kickers in the Midwest is waiting to hear from Pitt special teams coach Bryan Deal about the Panthers interest.

"He (Deal) is away on a recruiting trip but when he gets back we are going to talk about a possible visit," says Daniel Lee of Park Hill South High School in Riverside, MO.

The 6'0 180" kicker says South Florida leads now but that head coach Jim Leavett told him that he hasn't decided whether to offer a kicker among the school's 25 scholarships.

"He told me if they do offer a kicker it will be me, though," says the polite and intelligent Lee, who is considered one of the top twenty kickers in his class.

A visit is planned for Wisconsin on January 23, according to Lee, but Wisconsin has not offered yet.

"They have offered Taylor Mehlhaff and they are waiting to see what he does first".

Mehlhaff, who many rate the top kicker in the country, is expected to decide between Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Lee is also an excellent student and has just received an ACT score of 25.
